Buffalo Songbook got itself written and recorded by Gareth "Gack" Ackland. It made him use his friends to make noises into microphones and so on.
Reviewers declare that "the Envelop' is fucking brilliant", BS has the " ability to evoke an innocent fragility while being genuinely sharp and occasionally nasty" and that "you can call it nu-country-metal-hip if you want, it won't help, but the massive confidence of Buffalo Songbook will"...
released February 16, 2015
Gack did the guitar, mandolin, casiotone 101, lead vocal and some other important stuff. He got Tim Karp to do banjo, dobro and singing. Jones played drums. Caroline-Jane Peel sang, as did Lise Reyners and Joseph Ayoade. And James Boston, who also blew saxophone. MC Hamm Burgla co-wrote and performed the tapestry-of-rappistry on Holland And Barrett, which also features Sarah Eve on Grade 8 flute. John Keates played occasional guitar and 5-string bass. Sal Palekar and Rich Moore did violin and fiddle, respectively. You do listening.
